It started with a staircase.
After graduating in 2018, our founder Patrick moved more than three times for work. Older apartments, narrow hallways, small elevators, and oversized sofas turned every move into the same expensive headache.
He started wondering why furniture couldn't adapt to the way people actually live today.

Couch Possum started with the idea that comfortable seating could be easier to bring home, easier to live with, and better suited to apartments and modern spaces.
Then came the possum part.
Moving inspired the furniture. Exhaustion inspired the name.
After long days at work, Patrick wasn't interested in sitting perfectly upright. He wanted to sink into the couch, stretch out, and stay there.
Possums seemed to understand the assignment.
And so did the slogan:
