Cloud Sofa shipping cartons and setup sequence for delivery planning

What Free Sofa Shipping Does—and Does Not—Include

Free sofa shipping answers a price question: the seller is not charging a standard shipping fee under the stated offer. It does not, by itself, promise room-of-choice delivery, stairs, unpacking, assembly, packaging removal, a guaranteed date, or free return freight.

Before ordering a large item, translate “free” into a service boundary. The useful unit is not the fee badge; it is the sequence from order confirmation to the cartons sitting where the carrier is actually required to leave them.

The seven-part shipping check

  1. Destination: covered states, territories, remote areas, and address restrictions.
  2. Processing: time before the shipment leaves the seller.
  3. Transit: estimated carrier time after dispatch.
  4. Appointment: whether the carrier schedules a window or arrives during normal operations.
  5. Handoff point: curb, building entrance, doorstep, lobby, room of choice, or another location.
  6. Included labor: stairs, elevator handling, unpacking, assembly, and debris removal.
  7. Exceptions: redelivery, address correction, storage, refusal, return freight, or inaccessible locations.

Processing and transit are separate clocks

A store may state an order-processing range and a carrier-transit range. Adding the best ends together does not create a guaranteed arrival date. Inventory status, weekends, holidays, weather, carrier capacity, remote-area transfer, and appointment availability can affect the real timeline.

Plan from the latest published estimate, then add margin if a lease, helper, elevator reservation, or travel date depends on delivery. Do not remove the current sofa or book nonrefundable labor around an estimate unless the relevant company has confirmed the appointment.

“Delivered” may still leave the lifting to you

Large-parcel delivery can end outside the living room. Ask where the driver must leave the cartons and whether stairs or elevators change the service. Building rules may require a reservation, certificate of insurance, protective padding, or a particular entrance even when the seller charges no shipping fee.

Match the handoff point to the package, not just the expanded sofa. Current Couch Possum carton data includes packages up to roughly 91–93 pounds. A box may fit the door and still require more lifting capacity than the household has.

Couch Possum’s current policy boundary

The live Couch Possum Shipping Policy, reviewed August 31, 2026, states free standard shipping within the contiguous United States, with Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO boxes, APO/FPO, and certain remote areas excluded. The policy also describes processing and transit estimates, tracking, and carrier-dependent delivery.

The policy should be read directly at checkout because service, timing, and exclusions can change. It does not justify assuming white-glove or in-home service. Ask support if your building or physical-access needs require a particular handoff.

Match the plan to the current cartons

Product Published shipment Delivery-day question
Cloud Sofa Two cartons, roughly 72–79 lb each Can two cartons be staged without blocking the route?
Fold Lounge One carton, roughly 91–93 lb Who can safely handle the heaviest single package?
Lounge Chair Two cartons, 61.4 lb and 41.5 lb Will both cartons be present before unboxing begins?

Verify the current product page because packaging may change. Measure door width, hall turns, stairs, elevator dimensions, and the path from the carrier handoff point.

Delivery-day controls

  • Keep the route clear and protect floors only with materials that do not create a trip hazard.
  • Photograph every carton before moving or opening it.
  • Count labels and compare them with the expected carton count.
  • Record punctures, crushing, water exposure, tears, or missing cartons immediately.
  • Do not cut deeply into compressed upholstery packaging.
  • Save packaging until the order and condition have been checked against the policy.

Free outbound shipping is not free returns

Return logistics are governed separately. The current Couch Possum Return & Refund Policy distinguishes eligible returns, damage or error reports, authorization, product condition, packaging, and costs. Read it before opening a compressed item, especially because the policy says an opened sofa should not be recompressed into its original box.

A shipping offer can be valuable while leaving the customer responsible for major return friction. Price both directions before treating free outbound delivery as a risk-free trial.
